About Convolvulus crenatifolius Ruiz & Pav.
This is a pubescent to densely hirsute herb. Its stems can twine up to 3 m high. The leaves are petiolate, measuring 3 - 8 x 1 - 4 cm, ovate - deltoid, strongly auriculate, usually large. The apex is usually obtuse and mucronate, the margin is undulate to sinuate, and the base is broadly cordate to hastate with the midrib area cuneate onto the petiole. The petioles are 7 - 15 mm long. The flowers are arranged in (1 -) 3 - 7 compact axillary, pedunculate umbellate cymes. The peduncles are 1.5 - 12 cm long. The bracteoles are 2 - 5 mm, narrowly lanceolate. The pedicels are 2 - 12 mm and seem to grow after anthesis. The outer sepals are 6 - 6.5 x 3.5 - 5 cm, elliptic, obtuse or acute. The corolla is 1.1 - 1.5 cm long, white to pink, deeply lobed, with brownish, pilose midpetaline bands terminating in a mucro. The ovary is glabrous. The style is divided about 7 mm above the base, and the stigmas are 3 mm, more or less included. The capsule is glabrous, and the seeds are smooth. [O'Donell 1959: 271 p. p., Carranza (2008: 4 ff.)]
