About Conus nanus G.B.Sowerby I, 1833

The adult shell of Conus nanus G.B.Sowerby I, 1833 reaches between 12 mm and 34 mm in size. The shell is coronated, with a rather depressed spire, and has granular striae near its base. The shell itself is white, covered by a thin, light yellowish brown epidermis; it is faintly blotched or occasionally spotted with chestnut. The base of the shell is violaceous. This species is found in the Indian Ocean off the Mascarene Basin; in the Indo-Pacific region it occurs off Hawaii, and is also present in Polynesia, Australia, and South Africa.
