About Conuber incei (R.A.Philippi, 1853)
Conuber incei, commonly known as Ince's Moon Snail or Ince's Sand Snail, is a species of predatory sea snail that belongs to the moon snail family Naticidae. It was first described in 1853 by Rodolfo Philippi under the original name Natica incei. The description was based on a specimen collected from Raines Island in the Torres Strait by Captain Ince of the Royal Navy, which is how the species got its specific epithet incei. This marine snail inhabits mud-silt flats and sand flats. Within Australia, it occurs in the states of South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland.
