About Conophytum obcordellum (Haw.) N.E.Br.
Conophytum obcordellum (Haw.) N.E.Br. is a flowering plant species in the Aizoaceae family, native to the Western Cape of South Africa. It is a small, clump-forming succulent that reaches 10 cm in height and 1 m in breadth. It produces glossy grey, pebble-shaped growths marked with dense dots and lines. Mature plants bear daisy-like, silky white or pink night-scented flowers in spring, or in late summer in the Northern Hemisphere. This species is cultivated as an ornamental plant. In temperate regions, it must typically be grown under glass, because it cannot survive freezing temperatures. It requires the same growing conditions as cacti: it should be planted in a free-draining growing medium, given full sun, and kept with low moisture levels. This plant has earned the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
