About Conocephalus maculatus (Le Guillou, 1841)
Conocephalus maculatus is a species of bush cricket that belongs to Anisoptera, the cone head subgenus. It has a widespread distribution across Africa, as well as southern and South-East Asia. In Northeast India, this species is a known pest of millets and maize. In the summer of 2008, a large swarm of Conocephalus maculatus caused severe damage to millet and maize crops in Manipur and Nagaland.
