Conandron ramondioides Siebold & Zucc. is a flowering plant species that belongs to the Gesneriaceae family. It is the only species classified in the genus Conandron. This plant is native to eastern Asia, and its distribution within the region includes southeastern China, Japan, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Its natural growing habitat consists of damp rock faces, forest areas, and streamside locations. It is a commonly encountered species across Japan. It is a perennial plant that grows to approximately 30 centimeters in height. It produces large basal leaves. Its purple flowers bloom and develop during the summer season. Its Japanese name is written as 岩煙草 and translates to "rock tobacco". This name refers both to the resemblance of its leaves to tobacco leaves, and to the plant's preferred growth habitat on exposed rock.
