About Compacta capitalis
Compacta capitalis is a species of moth that belongs to the family Crambidae. The species was first described by Augustus Radcliffe Grote in 1881. It is native to North America, with confirmed recorded ranges spanning from Maryland south to Florida, west to Texas, and north to Illinois; it may also be present in Colorado. Both of its wings feature a distinct dark apical blotch. Adult moths of this species are active in flight from May through August.
