The ashy wood pigeon, scientifically named Columba pulchricollis Blyth, 1846, is a member of the bird family Columbidae that lives in the temperate forests of southeastern Asia. This species has a broad range across Southeast Asia. It can be found in Nepal, Bhutan, northern India, southern Tibet, southern China, northern Laos, northern to central Myanmar, northern Thailand, and Taiwan. The total global population of the ashy wood pigeon has not been measured, but the population living in Taiwan is estimated to hold between 10,000 and 100,000 breeding pairs.
