About Colotis vesta (Reiche, 1850)

Colotis vesta, commonly known as the veined tip, veined orange, or veined golden Arab, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Pieridae. It occurs naturally in the Afrotropical realm. The wingspan of males ranges from 32 to 40 mm (1.3 to 1.6 inches), while the wingspan of females ranges from 34 to 45 mm (1.3 to 1.8 inches). Adult Colotis vesta fly throughout the year, with their flight activity peaking in late summer and autumn. The larvae of this species feed on Maerua angolensis.
