Colotis eris, commonly known as the banded gold tip or black-barred gold tip, is a butterfly species that belongs to the Pieridae family. This butterfly is found in the Afrotropical realm. It has a wingspan ranging from 40 to 45 millimeters. Adult Colotis eris fly throughout the year in warm regions, with their activity peaking between March and June. The larvae of this species feed on Boscia albitrunca and Boscia oleoides.
