Collybiopsis peronata (Bolton) R.H.Petersen has the following documented characteristics. For its microscopic features, its elongated, comma-shaped spores measure roughly 8 μm by 4 μm, and it has irregular, coralloid cheilocystidia. This is a saprobic mushroom that typically grows in small to large clumps on fallen leaves or needles, found in both deciduous and coniferous woodlands. Its known fruiting period ranges from May to December. It is a common species across Europe, and has also been recorded at a small number of sites in America and Japan.
