About Collomia linearis Nutt.
Collomia linearis Nutt. is a species of flowering plant in the phlox family, with the common names tiny trumpet and slenderleaf collomia. This small wildflower is native to North America, where it is fairly widespread across the northern and western parts of the continent. It is an annual herb that rarely grows taller than 30 centimetres, or 12 inches. It has a velvety, erect stem that bears long, narrow green leaves. A cluster of up to 20 flowers grows at the top of the stem. The flowers are white or light pink, and each is roughly one centimetre across. Each flower has five small rounded petals, plus stamens with anthers at their tips that hold white pollen.
