Description: This species has a wingspan of 31–45 mm. Individuals are dark grey-green with grey-black wing margins and red fringes. Females are more yellowish in color, and have more distinct yellowish submarginal spots on both wings. The underside of the forewing is off-white with an impure tone, mixed with greenish-yellow scales, and its prominent rose-red fringes are clearly visible. The hindwing is yellowish green, and is paler along the margin; it has a white median spot bordered in red, with a diffuse red spot located distal to this median spot.
