About Coleonyx mitratus (Peters, 1863)
The total body length of Coleonyx mitratus, including the tail, reaches 190 millimeters. The tail makes up 50 to 54 percent of the gecko's total length. As its common name suggests, this species of gecko has horizontal brown, black, and yellow bands across its dorsal body surface. These geckos are distributed across the region from Guatemala, extending south to Costa Rica.
