The rainbow whiptail, scientifically named Cnemidophorus lemniscatus (Linnaeus, 1758), is a species of lizard. Its native range covers Central America, the Caribbean, and northern South America. It has been introduced to Florida, where it has successfully established stable populations. Full-grown rainbow whiptails reach a maximum length of approximately 12 inches, which equals 30.5 centimeters. This species is known to have both sexually reproducing populations and parthenogenetic populations.
