Closterotomus trivialis, formally named Closterotomus trivialis (A.Costa, 1853), reaches a body length of 6.6–7.9 millimetres (0.26–0.31 inches). Its body color is quite variable. Females usually have yellow and green bodies, with yellow green heads. Males may be red and black. The pronotum usually features two central and two lateral black spots. This species is mainly distributed in Italy, Greece, Portugal, Spain, and Yugoslavia.
