About Closterocoris amoenus (Provancher, 1887)

This species, Closterocoris amoenus, can be distinguished from nearly all other Miridae by characteristics of its parempodia. Its parempodia are more slender, straplike, and less robust than the parempodia of nearly all other Miridae, and the inner surface of the parempodia is striated. Closterocoris amoenus also differs from other Miridae in having a reduced, apomorphic apex, which is the highest part of the body.
