Clivia caulescens is a geophytic plant that belongs to the Clivia genus. This species grows naturally in Eswatini, Mpumalanga and Limpopo. Its populations are threatened by overharvesting for use by traditional healers, and by collection from the wild by horticulturalists. Current projections indicate that the total number of Clivia caulescens individuals will decline by 25% over the next 60 years. Some individual plants of this species may be variegated.
