About Clitocybula azurea Singer
Clitocybula azurea Singer is a mushroom species belonging to the genus Clitocybula, and it is native to Central and South America. Its spores are subglobose to broadly ellipsoid, smooth, inequilateral, and amyloid, with dimensions of 4–6.5 × 3–5 μm. Its cheilocystidia and pleurocystidia are versiform, ranging from cylindrical, clavate, or utriform to subcapitate or forms with an apical papilla, and measure 18–30 × 3.5–8 μm. Phylogenetically, Clitocybula azurea falls within Clitocybula sensu stricto, and is the sister species of Clitocybula familia.
