About Clepsis senecionana (Hübner, 1818-1819)
Clepsis senecionana, commonly known as the rustic tortrix, is a moth species belonging to the family Tortricidae. This species has a distribution ranging from Europe to eastern Siberia. The wingspan of adult Clepsis senecionana measures between 13 and 16 mm. Adult moths are active in flight from May through June. The larvae of this moth feed on a wide range of host plants, including Convallaria, Dorycnium, Gentianella amarella, Lotus, Lysimachia, Myrica, Polygonatum, Onobrychis viccifolia, and Vaccinium myrtillus. In Scotland, larvae have additionally been recorded feeding on Picea, Pinus, and Larix.
