Clepsis consimilana (Hübner, 1814-1817) has a wingspan of 13–19 mm. Its forewings are reddish-brown, with dark brown markings and two small dark spots along the hind edge. Females have less distinct forewing markings than males. This species has brownish grey hindwings. Its larvae are violet green or violet grey, with a pale brown head. This species can be found from Europe through Asia Minor to Syria, it also occurs in North Africa and the eastern United States.
