About Cleora injectaria (Walker, 1860)

The wingspan of Cleora injectaria measures approximately 36 to 50 mm. Adult moths are greyish or pale brown, with complex, variable darker markings, and the species has around nine distinct color morphs. Within the C. alienaria complex that includes this species, there are also about nine different color morphs. Black and white banded morphs are more abundant than grey, brown and white morphs, plain morphs, and morphs with a black discal spot. Cleora injectaria larvae feed on mangrove plant species from the genera Rhizophora, Avicennia, Excoecaria, and Xylocarpus.
