About Cleora alienaria (Walker, 1860)

Adults of Cleora alienaria are polymorphic, with distinct color differences between individuals that have historically caused confusion in the species' classification. The discal spot on the forewing of this species is clearly defined. The caterpillar stage is leafy green with fine linear marbling patterns. A narrow, lens-shaped transverse white bar sits anterior to the dorsolateral brown tubercles; this white bar is divided in its center by a black triangle. Caterpillars of Cleora alienaria are recorded feeding on Falcataria moluccana, Acacia mangium, Cinnamomum, Sambucus, and Dalbergia monetaria.
