Clelia clelia (Daudin, 1803) is a large snake species. Adult individuals reach a maximum snout-to-vent length (SVL) of 2.1 m (6.9 ft). Adult dorsal coloration is uniformly black, gray, or olive-gray, while adult ventral coloration is yellowish white. Juveniles of this species are pale brown or red, with black heads and a yellow collar. Clelia clelia occurs naturally in Central America, South America, and the Lesser Antilles, including the island of Trinidad. Its preferred natural habitat is forest, found at altitudes ranging from sea level up to 1,500 m (4,900 ft). This snake is oviparous, meaning it reproduces by laying eggs.
