About Clavaria argillacea Pers.

Clavaria argillacea Pers. is a species of fungus belonging to the family Clavariaceae. Its fruiting bodies measure 2–8 millimetres (1⁄16–5⁄16 inch) across and reach up to 8 centimetres (3+1⁄4 inch) in height. In Europe, it can be found growing near moss on sandy heaths between August and September. It is edible when eaten raw or cooked, and can be preserved in oil.
