About Clarkia biloba (Durand) A.Nelson & J.F.Macbr.
Clarkia biloba (Durand) A.Nelson & J.F.Macbr. is an annual herb that grows an erect stem reaching a maximum height near 1 metre, or 3.3 feet. Its leaves range from linear to lance-shaped, grow up to 6 centimeters long, and each sits on a short petiole. An inflorescence grows at the top of the erect stem, with hanging buds positioned above open flowers. The pink or red-purple sepals stay fused as the petals spread out and emerge from one side of the bud. Petals are up to 2.5 centimeters long, and their color ranges from pink to lavender to magenta, and sometimes have red flecks. Every petal has a two-lobed tip. The plant has 8 stamens: some bear large lavender anthers, while others have smaller, paler anthers. The stigma extends out past the stamens.
