About Cladonia deformis (L.) Hoffm.

Cladonia deformis (L.) Hoffm., commonly called the lesser sulphur cup or lesser sulphur cup lichen, is a light-coloured, fruticose cup lichen in the family Cladoniaceae. It was first described as Lichen deformis by Carl Linnaeus in 1753, and Georg Franz Hoffmann transferred it to the genus Cladonia in 1796. As of July 2021, the International Union for Conservation of Nature has not assessed this species' conservation status. In Iceland, the species is classified as data deficient (DD).
