About Cladonia coniocraea (Flörke) Spreng.
Cladonia coniocraea (Flörke) Spreng., commonly called the common powderhorn or powderhorn cup lichen, is a fruticose cup lichen species that belongs to the family Cladoniaceae. Heinrich Gustav Flörke first formally described this species in 1821 under the name Cenomyce coniocraea. In 1827, Kurt Polycarp Joachim Sprengel reclassified it into the genus Cladonia, resulting in its current accepted scientific name. As of July 2021, the IUCN has not evaluated the conservation status of this species. In Iceland, the conservation status of Cladonia coniocraea is listed as data deficient (DD).
