About Cladonia cervicornis (Ach.) Flot.

Cladonia cervicornis (Ach.) Flot. is a species of cup lichen belonging to the family Cladoniaceae. Swedish lichenologist Erik Acharius first formally published this taxon in 1799, originally naming it Lichen cervicornis. Julius von Flotow moved the species to the genus Cladonia in 1849. In North America, this lichen has two common colloquial names: ladder lichen and elk's-horn cup lichen.
