About Cisticola chubbi Sharpe, 1892
Chubb's cisticola, with the scientific name Cisticola chubbi described by Sharpe in 1892, is a bird species belonging to the family Cisticolidae. This species is native to three regions: the Western High Plateau, the Albertine Rift montane forests, and the East African montane forests. Four recognized subspecies of Chubb's cisticola exist, each with its own distribution: C. c. adametzi, described by Reichenow in 1910, is found in southeastern Nigeria and southwestern Cameroon; C. c. discolor, described by Sjöstedt in 1893, occurs on Mount Cameroon in southwest Cameroon and is also referred to as brown-backed cisticola; the nominate subspecies C. c. chubbi, described by Sharpe in 1892, ranges from eastern DR Congo to western Kenya; C. c. marungensis, described by Chapin in 1932, is native to the Marungu highlands of southeastern DR Congo. Chubb's cisticola is a territorial species, and it spends most of its time in dense vegetation.
