About Cinnamomum osmophloeum Kaneh.

Cinnamomum osmophloeum Kaneh., commonly called pseudocinnamomum or indigenous cinnamon, is a medium-sized evergreen tree that belongs to the genus Cinnamomum. This species is native to the broad-leaved forests of central and northern Taiwan. Cinnamaldehyde, an essential oil that can be extracted from C. osmophloeum, has a wide range of commercial uses. Additionally, Cinnamaldehyde acts as a xanthine oxidase inhibitor, which means it has potential as a drug for treating hyperuricemia and related medical conditions, including gout.
