Chrysura refulgens (Spinola, 1806) reaches a body length of 10–12 millimetres (0.39–0.47 inches). This species is one of the largest members of the genus Chrysura found in southern Europe. Its head and thorax (referred to as chest here) have a metallic bluish coloration, while its abdomen is metallic golden-red. These cuckoo wasps are distributed across most of Europe, Northeast regions, and North Africa.
