About Chrysura cuprea (Rossi, 1790)

Chrysura cuprea (Rossi, 1790) can reach a body length of 6–10 millimetres (0.24–0.39 inches). Its body is almost entirely metallic golden-red; only the sides of the rear portion of the thorax and its legs are metallic bluish. This is a quite uncommon species of wasp. It can be found in Southern and Central Europe, as well as in North Africa. It prefers warm regions with sparse vegetation, particularly dry grasslands and rocky slopes.
