About Chrysococcyx klaas (Stephens, 1815)
Chrysococcyx klaas (Stephens, 1815), commonly called Klaas's cuckoo, measures 16–18 cm (6.3–7.1 inches) in total length. This species displays clear sexual dimorphism. Adult males have a glossy green body with very few markings, and solid plain white underparts. In flight, males appear mostly white, with dark primary feathers. Females have a bronze-brown body, greenish wing coverts, and white underparts with faint barring. In flight, females look mostly brown overall. Both males and females share a small white patch located behind the eye. The range of this species covers almost all of sub-Saharan Africa, and it is absent only from the very arid regions of southwestern sub-Saharan Africa.
