About Chromis hypsilepis (Günther, 1867)
Chromis hypsilepis, scientifically described by Günther in 1867, is a damselfish belonging to the genus Chromis. It is called the one-spot puller in New Zealand and the brown puller in Australia. This species is found off the coast of south-east Australia, and between North Cape and East Cape on the North Island of New Zealand. It inhabits rocky coasts at depths up to around 60 metres. It grows to a total length between 15 and 20 centimetres.
