Pycnochromis amboinensis, commonly known as the Ambon chromis, is a species of damselfish native to the Western Pacific. This species is sometimes collected for the aquarium trade. It reaches a maximum length of 9 centimetres (3.5 inches). Its accepted scientific name is also cited as Chromis amboinensis (Bleeker, 1871).
