About Chondromorpha xanthotricha (Attems, 1898)

Chondromorpha xanthotricha (Attems, 1898) individuals measure roughly 20 to 26 mm in body length. Adult individuals of this species have a coloration that ranges from chestnut brown to dark grey, and they are capable of moving very quickly. This species is originally native to India and Sri Lanka, but has been accidentally introduced to many other countries through shipping transport. Introduced locations include Brazil, Cuba, Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela, Haiti, Taiwan, the Philippines, Bali, New Caledonia, Samoa, Fiji, Mauritius, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, Suriname, Puerto Rico, and numerous other Caribbean Islands. This species was first documented in Singapore in 2012.
