About Chondrodactylus angulifer Peters, 1870

Chondrodactylus angulifer, scientifically described by Peters in 1870, is a large gecko species. Adult individuals have an average snout-to-vent length (SVL) of 7 to 9 cm (2.8 to 3.5 inches). The maximum recorded size for this species is a male individual measuring 11.3 cm (4.4 inches) SVL. This gecko is distributed across Namibia, the southernmost region of Botswana, and western South Africa. For reproduction, an adult female C. angulifer produces a clutch of one or two eggs. The eggs are nearly spherical, with dimensions of 18 by 16 mm (0.71 by 0.63 inches). Newly hatched individuals measure approximately 7 cm (2.8 inches) in total length, including the tail.
