Chionodes mediofuscella, commonly known as the black-smudged chionodes moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Gelechiidae. This moth is native to North America, with confirmed recorded ranges stretching from Nova Scotia to Florida in eastern North America, and from British Columbia to Colorado, Arizona, and northern California in western North America. Its forewings are pale yellowish in base color, marked by a dark brown spot along the costa, a blackish-brown dot at the angle of the fold, and a second blackish-brown dot positioned above that first dot. The hindwings of this moth are shining pale grey. The larvae of Chionodes mediofuscella feed on Ambrosia trifida.
