About Chileotaxus sans Platnick, 1990
Chileotaxus sans, first described by Platnick in 1990, is a species of spider. This spider is green, has long spineless legs and a triangular abdomen. Adult individuals range in total length from 1.9 to 2.3 mm. Its carapace is longer than it is wide, and narrows toward its anterior end. The eyes of this spider cover almost the entire width of the head region. The median ocular quadrangle (MOQ) forms a trapezium that is wider toward the rear; the anterior median eyes (AME) are positioned closer to each other than the posterior median eyes (PME). The AME are darker and smaller than all of the spider's other eyes, and the clypeal height is approximately four times the diameter of an AME. This species is found in wet forests in Chile, where it lives under the leaves of trees and shrubs. It constructs a dome-shaped sheet-web, with the apex of the web located underneath a leaf.
