Chelonaplysilla violacea (Lendenfeld, 1883) is a species of sponge. It is found mainly in New Zealand, but has also been reported from both sides of the Pacific Ocean. Reported locations additionally include the Indo-Pacific, the United Arab Emirates, the Persian Gulf, Australia, and Hawaii. This species is reddish-mauve in color. Its surface is opaque, membranous, and optically smooth. Its texture is slimy, soft, and compressible, with horny fibers protruding.
