About Cheirogaleus crossleyi A.Grandidier, 1870

The furry-eared dwarf lemur (Cheirogaleus crossleyi), also known as Crossley's dwarf lemur, is found exclusively on the island of Madagascar, which holds true for all other lemur species. Its dorsal fur is red-brown, while its ventral fur is gray. This species has blackish eye-rings, and both the inner and outer portions of its ears are black. Like all members of its species, Cheirogaleus crossleyi must hibernate during periods of food scarcity on Madagascar. Individuals of this species experience dramatic body temperature fluctuations throughout their hibernation period.
