About Cheilodactylus zonatus Cuvier, 1830

Spottedtail morwong, Cheilodactylus zonatus Cuvier, 1830, reaches a maximum total length of 45 centimeters (18 inches). The body and head are overall white, marked with several diagonal reddish-orange bands, and the caudal fin has white spots. This species occurs in the northwestern Pacific Ocean, ranging from Japan and Korea south to southern China, Taiwan, and northern Vietnam. It inhabits rocky reef faces and slopes, and is typically found at depths between 1 and 15 meters (3 feet 3 inches to 49 feet 3 inches).
