About Chasmodes bosquianus (Lacepède, 1800)
Chasmodes bosquianus, commonly known as the striped blenny, is a species of combtooth blenny. It occurs in the western Atlantic Ocean, ranging from New York to Florida. The species' specific name uses the suffix -ianus, which means "belonging to", and is given in reference to French naturalist Louis Augustin Guillaume Bosc (1759–1828). Bernard Germain de Lacépède based his original description of this blenny on notes written by Bosc.
