The blotched snakehead (Channa maculata) is a snakehead species belonging to the genus Channa. This species is native to China and also found in northern Vietnam and Taiwan. Additionally, it has been widely introduced to various other countries, where it has become an invasive species. As a predatory fish, it usually reaches lengths of 20 to 30 cm (7.9 to 11.8 in), with occurrences verified at 33 cm (13 in), and there are suggestions that it could grow to even larger sizes.
