About Chaetomorpha antennina (Bory) Kütz.

Chaetomorpha antennina (Bory) Kütz. is a green algal species that belongs to the family Cladophoraceae. In its natural habitat, this alga typically grows on surf-exposed rocky shores ranging from the intertidal zone to the shallow subtidal zone, where it forms erect, brush-like tufts made of straight, rigid, unbranched filaments, and attaches to its substrate using rhizoids. However, when grown under laboratory culture conditions, its filaments can produce lateral branches, which demonstrates that this species has morphological plasticity.
