About Ceriagrion cerinorubellum (Brauer, 1865)

This is a medium-sized damselfly species with the scientific name Ceriagrion cerinorubellum (Brauer, 1865). Adults have greenish eyes that are bluish on the upper portion. Their thorax is yellowish green. On the abdomen, segments 1, 2, the basal half of segment 3, and the apical half of segments 7 through 10 are brick red. The other abdominal segments are black on their dorsal half and pale blue on their ventral half. Females are similar in appearance to males, but are more robust and have duller coloration. This damselfly breeds in weed-covered ponds, marshes, and other types of still water habitats. It has been recorded in Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Malaysia, the Philippines, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
