About Cepora nadina (Lucas, 1852)

Cepora nadina, commonly known as the lesser gull, is a small to medium-sized butterfly belonging to the family Pieridae, which is the family of yellows and whites. This species was first formally described by Hippolyte Lucas in 1852. It is native to Sri Lanka, India, Myanmar, Hainan, and Southeast Asia. Its confirmed distribution includes Sikkim in northeastern India, Bhutan, Sylhet in Assam, the Khasi Hills, Manipur, Upper and Lower Burma, the Shan States, and Tenasserim. Two recognized subspecies have recorded ranges: C. n. remba occurs in Sri Lanka and southern India, while C. n. andamana occurs in the Andaman Islands.
