About Celtis biondii Pamp.

Celtis biondii Pamp., commonly called zidanshu (紫弹树, literally translated "purple bullet tree") in Chinese, is a species of hackberry native to China, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan. It is a deciduous tree that grows to 18 meters, or 59 feet, tall. This species prefers to grow on limestone, within the same floristic assemblage that is thought to also include wild Ginkgo biloba.
