About Cebus unicolor Spix, 1823

Spix's white-fronted capuchin, with the scientific name Cebus unicolor, is a species of gracile capuchin monkey. It was originally classified as a subspecies of Humboldt's white-fronted capuchin (Cebus albifrons). After genetic research conducted by Boubli et al., Mittermeier and Ryland elevated it to the status of a full separate species. Spix's white-fronted capuchin has a broad distribution across the upper Amazon Basin, found in Brazil and Peru, and also lives in northern Bolivia. Its head and body length measures between 36.5 and 37.5 cm (14.4 and 14.8 inches), and its tail length ranges between 42 and 46 cm (17 and 18 inches).
